Who doesn’t want their own home? Who doesn’t want a better Curaçao? More just? More social, where every child of Curaçao is treated with respect. A young couple arrives in Curaçao from the Netherlands, full of hope and ideals, wanting to help build a better and fairer society. Everyone wants that. We see the couple working hard, making sacrifices, and inspiring those around them to support their project.
But how far can you go to achieve your goal?
Will they become victims of their own ambition?
Teatro Bulabanda presents Lamchi di Dios, a Papiamentu spoken play that asks how ambition can corrupt, how society denies people their rights, and how we ourselves can trample another person’s dignity in order to get ahead. How much would you sacrifice to reach the top?
