Dit uit 1672 daterende plantagehuis dat in 1965 door de Koninklijke Marine als vormingscentrum in gebruik is genomen, is één van de mooist gerestaureerde en gemeubileerde Landhuizen van Curaçao. Het Landhuis ligt hoog op een heuvel rechts van de weg als U van Willemstad naar Westpunt rijdt, net voor het dorpje Barber. Iedere eerste zondag van de maand is er Open Huis. Elke donderdag om 09:00 uur is er een rondleiding in en om het Landhuis, mits het Landhuis niet is gereserveerd door derden. Inloop met koffie/limonade vanaf 08:30 uur. U dient zich via email of telefonisch van te voren aan te melden. Dit om teleurstelling te voorkomen.

Geschiedenis en cultuur van Bonaire
Archivo Boneiru geeft u toegang tot een grote collectie foto’s, documenten en andere items over het Caribische eiland Bonaire. Het doel van Archivo Boneiru is om de geschiedenis en cultuur te ontsluiten van dit prachtige eiland.
Journalist en auteur Boi Antoin heeft op Bonaire de afgelopen jaren een uitgebreide collectie aan Bonairiaans cultureel erfgoed opgebouwd. Het materiaal is opgeslagen in een ruimte van ongeveer zes bij vier meter. De collectie bevat foto’s uit de 20e eeuw, videobanden, audiotapes, voorwerpen, boeken en documenten. Hoewel het materiaal niet heel oud is, zijn de bewaarcondities op Bonaire verre van ideaal, waardoor de achteruitgang in de materiële staat goed te zien is.
Plataforma Kultural en Fundashon Históriko Kultural Boneriano hebben het initiatief genomen om het aanwezige materiaal te laten digitaliseren en te ontsluiten. Zij werken daarbij samen met Regionaal Archief Dordrecht. Het Nationaal Archief heeft geadviseerd en het Instituut voor Beeld en Geluid neemt een deel van de collectie op haar catalogus.

The Major Osmar R. Simmons Museum is located in The Bottom on the way to Well’s Bay. The museum is in a small two-story family home on the road heading toward The Ladder. It depicts the household of the major who lived here. Major Simmons was a police officer for 40 years, who collected furniture and domestic artifacts along with 20th-century household tools. To visit the museum please contact the owners in advance. A sign will be posted by the door with the contact information.

Saba’s Harry Luke Johnson Museum is appropriately located in an original Saban cottage in Windwardside. It stands in the middle of a beautiful romantic garden in landscape style, which is used as a public park for picnics, in the past also for Sunday croquet games, and Easter egg hunts.
