For some years now photographer Sinaya Wolfert (1964) has been focussing on visualizing the positive developments in the social and cultural areas on Cura\u00e7ao.
\nHer Cura\u00e7ao roots have certainly played an important role in her choice of this theme and her attempt to depict the religions, rituals, and traditions of the island.
\nIn her photo’s Sinaya Wolfert tries to make the invisible visible; improve the mutual understanding among the various religious communities. But she also tries to visualize the strength of faith and its importance for mankind. Some images tell a story hardly known among the local population, but which for centuries has been preserved in the Cura\u00e7ao culture.
\nSinaya’s autonomous projects are reflected in her photo’s. This photo book Cura\u00e7ao Religions, Rituals and Traditions presents a picture of the hidden world of “Religious Cura\u00e7ao”, where the various religions still co-exist peacefully.<\/p>\n
