Stichting Monumentenzorg Cura\u00e7ao\u00a0\u2013 Cura\u00e7ao Heritage Foundation \u2013 was founded in 1954. The private foundation is the oldest and largest organization in the field of preservation of monuments in the former Netherlands Antilles. She has over the years been a great stimulator for the preservation of the built heritage.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, the foundation has over 120 monuments under management, including town houses, forts, plantation houses and even a former synagogue. Several of these were acquired when they were already in a dilapidated state and threatened to be lost. By now most have been restored.<\/p>\n
Stichting Monumentenzorg Cura\u00e7ao initiated Herens\/cia | Erfgoed | Heritage to promote knowledge exchange and improve access to Dutch-Caribbean heritage. In collaboration with partners across all six islands, the platform supports the preservation and accessibility of tangible and intangible heritage through a comprehensive inventory of resources and activities.<\/p>\n
